We would like to introduce The Clanfield Sports & Community Foundation, which is a not-for-profit, charity-based organisation and our vision is to create and sustain “A VIBRANT, HEALTHY, ENGAGED and PROSPEROUS community through sport and community events”.
Clanfield’s new Community and Sports Centre will be holding an open evening on Wednesday 18th July from 4.00pm to 8.00pm for residents to:
– see inside the building;
– meet the Trustees of the Foundation that will be running it;
– hear about the services and the activities that are being planned;
– catch up on the fit-out and equipment programme which is now progressing; and
– discuss how everyone can become involved.
Making this announcement today, Rich Goodman, Chairman of Clanfield Sports and Community Foundation said:
“This seems the best way of introducing ourselves and our plans to residents. Whilst the building is still in the early stages of being fitted out, we would like people to see it and to know what is going on as we move towards an opening date. By 18th July, we should have a better idea of when that will be.
“This will be a real community-based facility. All the members of the Trustee Board live in the village and care passionately about what we are trying to achieve. It is a fantastic facility with enormous potential. There will be a drop-in cafe where people can meet and socialise, the sports hall is being equipped for a wide range of sports including 5 a-side football, netball, volleyball and badminton. We will offer meeting facilities, dance, yoga and pilates studios and outdoor LTA-standard tennis courts. The centre will cater for people of all ages and abilities and we are sure that the whole village will want to support us in enabling a healthy and vibrant community.
“We will be offering employment opportunities. The first to be advertised will be the important role of Sports and Community Centre Manager. If you are interested in this position and feel that you have the necessary experience please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the job specification and an application form.
“My colleagues and I look forward to welcoming you to the Centre on the 18th July.”
